A bio-regional star! The Northern Quebec variety is a very cold hardy garlic variety that produces huge cloves. Each bulb has 3 -4 cloves per bulb. It is known to be an extremely hot variety. The variety is related to the famous garlic variety Music.
The advantage to bulbils are that you can bulk up garlic at a cheaper price than purchasing garlic bulbs.
Bulbils can be planted in the spring. That fall, dig up your bulbils in August, cure them & replant your best looking ones when you would normally plant garlic - in October or November. The following year they should produce "rounds" by the end of summer. Do the same for these as you did the first year. In year 3 your harvest should result in a small bulb. Split the bulb & replant to keep going with your own garlic stock.
